Things That May Be Helpful to Know Before You Register
Are group discounts available?
Groups of 10 or more dancers will receive 10% off of the group's total (showcase attire not included in discount). There MUST be ONE PAYMENT made for the entire group (i.e. church check), rather than having each member of the group pay separately. If you believe you have a group of 10 or more, please call us so we can walk you through a quick and easy 3-step registration.
What should my daughter bring to camp?
A bible, a pen (or pencil), and the camp notebook that she'll be issued on opening day; she should keep these 3 things in a small bag. She won't need anything else. We are busy from the moment our day starts until the moment it ends.
Does my daughter need to have any dance experience to attend camp?
No.
What should my daughter wear to camp?
Dancers should dress in clothing that allows free, uninhibited movement. Bottoms can be shorts or pants (no skirts please), but absolutely NO DENIM is allowed. Tops can be t-shirts or tanks. There should be no midriffs worn to camp. Socks and tennis shoes are the only acceptable footwear, as we have a high-impact morning warm-up, and high-impact dance sessions throughout the day. Stud earrings are the only acceptable jewelry.
Camp starts on a Saturday. Is that day really necessary?
YES! PMSDC is not like any other camp. Missing one day hurts dancers. Because the dancers will minister at our showcase at the end of the week, they must get 6 full days of our bible, life skills, and dance curriculum to be adequately prepared. The "catch up" after missing one day is just plain 'ole hard and causes unnecessary dancer frustration, especially after missing opening day, Saturday. They learn SO MUCH on opening day!
Because there is limited space at PMSDC and the spots tend to fill rather quickly, is there a waiting list for dancers in the event that someone is unable attend?
Yes. Once registration closes on Tuesday, July 7th at noon, we will open Wait List Registration from which we will create a waiting list. If a dancer(s) does not show on opening day (Saturday, July 11), the Praise Movement staff will make a courtesy call. If the dancer's family expresses that the dancer will be a "no show" (and it has happened), we will then use the lottery system to have a dancer from the waiting list fill the spot.
Is the showcase attire fee paid up front or during the camp week?
All fees (registration and showcase attire) are paid during the online registration process.
Are dancers allowed to bring packed lunches?
Yes, but we discourage lunches being brought to camp at lunch time. It is a bit disruptive, as the entire camp--dancers and staff--eats lunch together as a family. If a dancer must have a packed meal, please have her bring it with her in the morning and our kitchen staff will store it until lunch. (Menu available upon request for registered families.)
Is there After Care at PMSDC?
No. Camp dismisses at 4 pm each day. Fees apply when dancers are picked up after 4 pm.
