In 2003, with a vision to minister the word of God to young women and girls firmly planted in her heart, God commissioned Iantha Ussin, a New Orleans, LA native, to Augusta, GA. After being led to a strong, bible-believing, bible-teaching church and submitting to its leadership, Iantha presented her pastor with her vision for a week-long praise dance camp, targeting 8-15 yr. old girls in the CSRA. In 2005, with her pastor's approval and the church's backing, the first Praise Movement Summer DANCE Camp was held with 19 campers. Every summer since then, God has used Iantha and the Praise Movement team to minister to hundreds of girls.
Iantha always knew she wanted to teach God's word through dance year round, and in 2009, God gave her clear direction to lay the foundation for Praise Movement School of Dance, Inc., a non-profit organization. With that, and the cries of her campers and their parents to have the camp experience on a more regular basis, Iantha rallied the Praise Movement team, her church family, and anyone else who could help to make the school come to life, and in November 2010, it did! Since then, Praise Movement has been committed to "GOING" and teaching girls everywhere (Matthew 28:18-20) the word of God with age-appropriate instruction in dance and drama. That is done mostly through the week-long summer dance camps, and the Let's Dance Tour weekend workshops. |
